We currently have immediate vacancies across the UK for experienced candidates with verifiable Private House experience.

Our Client is looking for an experienced couple for a long-term position.

The couple must have a minimum of 3 years previous experience working within an ever-changing environment. Private House or Estate experience is essential. The couple must have the flexibility to join an existing small team and be happy to adapt when needed to meet the clients high end expectations. A couple who see change as a positive challenge rather than a hindrance and can anticipate needs with a can-do attitude. A couple with an eye for detail and flair for going the extra mile to reach a goal. Both individuals will be working within the House. We are looking for a couple that are looking for a long term commitment.

One member of the couple will need to be a confident driver (to include regular trips to London) with a clean licence and one member will need to be a happy to cook simple family meals.

Housekeeper/ Duties for couple

Main priority. Ensuring the house is always kept to a high standard. Working on a rota with other staff/5 day week. Family of 4.

Based in the South West most of the time with travel to London to help cover staff/ also willing to travel out of the UK with the family in the summer on occasion

All day-to-day housekeeping duties including, but not limited to: cleaning of all rooms, vacuuming, mopping floors, dusting, cleaning windows (inside) making and changing beds, preparing rooms for family & guests, cleaning up after meals, emptying bins, care of furniture and fine objects, flower arranging and care of house plants.

Attending to the family with a high level of service and care when they are at the property.

Plan as a team to undertake an ongoing in-depth program of deep-cleaning/specific tasks (i.e. carpet cleaning etc.) which can be done when the house is unoccupied.

Care of all laundry including machine and handwashing, ironing, folding/hanging clothes, occasional sewing and mending of garments, handling and care of special fabrics, taking items for dry cleaning etc.

Organising of wardrobes, packing and un-packing suitcases, shoe polishing and repairs

Ordering and maintaining household supplies as required including cleaning products, linen, equipment etc. Knowledge of products with an eye for detail.

Laying of tables for both informal and formal meals. Serving at the table on occasion serving drinks.

Food shopping/ ordering when required.

Such other duties as may reasonably be required.

Communicating with the wider staff within the Estate, must work well with others as a team player/not just as a couple unit. Proactive, energetic and willing to adapt from a regular routine to a busier environment.

Greeting and care for daytime and overnight guests when required

Child care

Assisting with childcare when the family are in residence

Babysitting as required on occasion

Providing well-balanced and nutritious meals appropriate to the needs of the children. Family normally all eat together

Cook Duties

Preparing and cooking meals on rotation for the family when they are in residence if required and for occasional dinner parties/ BBQ in accordance with their preferences and dietary requirements. Simple cooking but must be confident in the kitchen

Planning and management of food stocks, ordering of groceries

Management of fridges, freezers, other food storage areas to ensure all items are kept correctly and to reduce wastage

Maintenance of wine cellar, monitoring of wine stock levels and advising when orders need to be placed

Responsibility for recording and reporting of purchases and expenses relating to household purchases.

Timely reporting of maintenance/equipment issues, reporting of any faults for the attention of external contractor team within the estate.

Such other duties as may reasonably be required.

Essential Criteria

Previous experience in a couple role supporting UHMW within a private House or Estate.
Very high attention to detail
A positive can-do attitude
Excellent communication skills – to include email and Whats App usage.
Both to have a good standard of written and spoken English
Trustworthy and able to handle confidential information appropriately
Longevity in previous employment
Verifiable, checkable references
Able to prioritise and multitask effectively
Right to work within the UK
Current DBS will be required

Salary and Benefits

Housekeeper required for a country residence in Oxfordshire plus occasional travel

Housekeeper Duties

Our client is looking for an experienced Housekeeper. The Housekeeper will need to show longevity in previous employments within private homes or country estates.

The housekeeper’s job is a full-time position working to a high standard, hands on with a fine attention to detail. The Housekeeper will be expected to be on duty at weekends when the owners are in residence, this will include evenings if needed for dinner parties, serving, dinner clearing etc. Days and hours are otherwise flexible.

The housekeeper is responsible for the day-to-day smooth running of the house. All normal housekeeping duties are involved to include turning down beds, cleaning, tidying, laundry, fire setting, washing up, shopping, flower arranging and household admin. The House contains collections of fine art and antiques and familiarisation of working with such items is expected.

Cooking

The housekeeper will need to be an experienced cook, able to follow recipes and is happy to cook to a dinner party standard, experience of baking is also a plus.

As a couple, the ability to assist with food preparation, beverage and food serving and other hospitality related efforts is important.

Driving

Driving is necessary as the house is in the country. Occasional driving for the train station or airport pickups and drop offs of guests is also required.

The Candidate

The position will suit a dedicated high calibre person with a mature responsible attitude to their work, someone who is a self-starter with an energetic approach to meet the clients’ expectations.

The client is looking for a housekeeper that is a nonsmoker preferably with no live in dependants or pets.
Someone who has a friendly and approachable personality. Someone who can maintain high standards is respectful but not seen to stand on ceremony.

Able to mix well with other estate staff as a team player.

The position requires hard work and longer hours and intensity when client is entertaining but is quiet and flexible much of the time when the owners are away and there are no guests.

Switzerland

The Housekeeper will be required to travel to the owner’s house in Switzerland possibly around 5 or 6 times a year. The housekeeper would travel out before the family to prepare everything. This house is used for some weekends and sometimes up to 10-day holidays including New Year and summer holidays 2-4 weeks. Duties here will include cleaning, laundry and expected household duties. These can be long days but time off in lieu will be given.

Oxfordshire Residence

The family are at their country residence often at weekends arriving Friday leaving Monday.

Once or max twice a month there may be dinner or lunch party for 6-18 guests and maybe 8 times a year have weekend overnight guests. The household style is informal but done to a high standard.

The family consists of 2 adults and 4 grown up children.

They have dogs (setters) and their care is shared with other estate staff when Housekeeper is on days off.

Most of the time the owners will be the only residents at weekends.

The property

A large 9 bed Manor House with 3 reception rooms. There is a separate outdoor pool, pool house and tennis court etc.

The Estate employs a Head Gardener, an Estate Manager and one other Gardener who all live on the estate. The gardens are open to the public certain times during the year.

Essential qualities

A background on a CV that shows experience with private employers for long periods, the client will not consider candidates that change their employment every couple of years.

We will need verifiable references from past employers.

Accommodation is provided on the Estate and consists of a 2-bed apartment in the stable block adjacent to the main house.

There is shared use of an estate car for work purposes.

Switzerland

The Couple will be required to travel to the owner’s house in Switzerland possibly around 5 or 6 times a year. They would travel out before the family to prepare everything. House Manager/Handyman Estate worker Duties to include but not restricted to.

Duties will be tailored to match experience but hopefully will include:-

Management and maintenance of Estate property, this includes mechanical/electrical works, plumbing, media.

Overseeing physical assets - The main house, stable block and outbuildings including pool house and swimming pool, tennis court, gates and security cameras and systems.

Assisting the Housekeeper when needed.

Supporting the Housekeeper with assistance in the kitchen and serving at dinner parties when required.

Driving and valeting the owner’s car, occasional driving (airport Train etc.)

Pet care duties covered by other staff when on your days off.

Helping in the garden and Arboretum if time allows under the direction of the Head Gardener.

The candidate will be expected to be hands on whenever possible, duties will be varied but may include gutter clearing, simple mechanical/electrical tasks, log cutting.

Duties will also include commissioning and supervising contractors on a “Best Value” basis where necessary if complex or specialist skills are required.

Reporting to

Reporting to the Owners overall but to the Head Gardener /Estate Manager for administrative issues and all gardens and non-house related work.

Part Time Cleaner required for beautiful country estate near Stroud

Our client is looking for an experienced Cleaner to join a household team within a country estate near Stroud, Gloucestershire.

The ideal candidate and Duties required to include but not limited to:-

· Someone who would be comfortable working with and around antiques, fine art, fabrics and china.

· A candidate that has a CV indicating previous employment within private houses and estates.

· A person that can mix well and work indoors as part of a small household team, is happy to carry out all household cleaning duties to a high standard, including mopping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing, etc.

· Happy to assist the other the cleaner with laundry tasks when required.

· When clients entertain or host events, help as a team member to prepare the room and set the table.

· Cleaning the lower floor rooms, kitchen, sitting room, hall, dining room, boot room etc. while the other cleaner will work upstairs but at times you will work together when needed.

The family are looking for a trustworthy, personable and discrete person that is hands on with an eye for detail who is happy to work within a small household team but would grow to feel part of the wider estate team. Someone who is looking for a position with longevity within a beautiful property.

The household consists of 2 adults, 2 children and 3 dogs.

Hours and Salary

The cleaner’s hours would be 6 hours per week, the client has a preference for two days a week, 3 hours each day. Monday and Friday mornings would be preferred (to tie in with the other cleaner), however they can be flexible for the right candidate.

Salary is approximately £15 per hour depending on experience.
